Mike is responsible for the company’s legislative and policy engagement across the 50 United States and represents its interests before Congress, The White House and other Federal Agencies. He also oversees the company’s sustainability and philanthropic efforts in the United States.
Mike has spent more than 20 years in government service and government relations. Prior to Bayer’s acquisition of Monsanto, Mike led the company’s Public and Industry Affairs group with responsibility for media relations and strategic partnerships across Canada, Latin America and the United States. He also spent nine years as a Director of Government Affairs based in their Washington, D.C. office and served as Chairman of the Board for the company’s political action committee.
Before joining the company in 2004, Mike served as an advisor to the Australian Minister for Science and Technology as well as U.S. Congressman Sam Farr and held various roles at the U.S. Department of State and Department of Justice.
Outside of Bayer, Mike serves on the Board of the Public Affairs Council, the Congressional Award, the Board of Governors of Ford’s Theater and as a Fellow at the Farm Foundation Round Table.
Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from American University and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Sydney.
He currently lives in Virginia with his wife and two daughters.
